Redda the Fish, and Migraine Gratitude

Ok, so we had a tragedy the other day. Redda, our beloved fish died. Well, loved by all of us, DEEPLY BELOVED by our 6 year old, Collin, who, tragically found him floating in his dish. Blessed his heart, he sobbed and sobbed. As Travis and I took turns holding and comforting our little boy, my heart was aching with him. Eventually, he was comforted (by string cheese, of all things), and went back to doing what a healthy 6 year old kid would do.

Later, I was blessed by a... on-the-scale-of-one-to-ten---an ELEVEN killer migraine. Fun stuff. Luckily, the boys were in bed, so I took my Imatrex and crawled in mine. I felt, right then the urge to pray. I prayed for Collin and his broken heart. I prayed for Kyler and his scary nightmares he's been having. I poured my heart out to Him about my husband, who is struggling sooo much with his heath. He loves me soo much, and I'm overwhelmingly blessed

A feeling of peace came over me. I remembered that as we were helping Collin through his heartache, we were able to share with him a small part of the Plan of Salvation, promising him that Redda is being taken care of, and that he'll see Redda again. A wash of warm gratitude wrapped around me.

Then, an I thought of Kyler's nightmares, I smiled (no, I'm not that mean). I smiled because we were able to remind Ky about prayer, and how he can go to Heavenly Father anytime, and anywhere. This gave him peace as he went to bed that night. Again...grateful.

An then, as I thought about my sweet husband, and how impatient I was with him that day, tears ran down my face. I felt an outpouring of love towards him. The gratitude of having such a wonderful husband was so overwhelming.

Wowza. Gratitude. Who knew.

Oh yeah...as I drifted of to sleep, I was sooo grateful for one more thing. Imatrex...oh sweet relief!

Till next time...
